Veterans Day officially became an American holiday November 11th, 1918. This marked the end of World War I. Veterans Day, also known as Armistice Day, was made to celebrate the heroism, courage, and bravery of those who fought in not only World War I, but all American wars before and after.
Veterans have sacrificed their time, safety, and well-being for us. They love this country and proved that by risking their lives. Celebrating them one day out of the year is the least we can do.
“The willingness of America’s veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.”
